What a coincidence. We’re experiencing exactly these issues in our choir at the moment. The choir started as people who wanted to just sing some songs together….now we’ve grown and there are a number of people who are more serious and are getting annoyed with those who don’t practice their parts and consistently make mistakes. We’ve also got two camps in terms of repertoire – those who are happy to go over the same material repetitively and those who want to expand and learn much more new material. I’m not sure how we accommodate these two differing groups or whether it’s inevitable that some people will leave because the choir isn’t meeting their expectations.
