TCR049 | PODCAST – What we’ve learned about retaining singers

  1. Strangely enough, directly after listening to this, I lost a couple of singers and I’ve spent the last couple of days wondering what I’ve done, not done, what was wrong and feeling a bit bereft to be honest. Their reasons were of course perfectly sound – they prefer another style of music – but I took onboard what you said about not changing my ethos (their preferred style of music is just not my bag in the slightest) and accept that there will always be some people who, for them, my choir isn’t right. I’m glad they were able to be up front and not just slip away and like me, they are being true to their own likes and dislikes. Thankfully they didn’t stick it out being unhappy – no-one would have benefitted at all.
Again, many thanks for the podcast – it helped me put some perspective on a really important issue.

  2. Loved Podcast no 49 – the first I’ve listened to, so looking forward to backtracking on previous ones (hope I can do that?).
